SMS Messaging - Proof of Consumer Consent

1. Overview

Linn Cleaners collects express written consent from customers prior to sending any SMS or MMS messages. Consent is captured at the point of sale through a customer-facing screen presented at check-in. No messages are sent until consent is affirmatively recorded in our point-of-sale system.

2. Consent Collection Method

Consent is obtained in-store via a customer-facing display screen integrated into the Linn Cleaners point-of-sale system. At the time of order intake, the following information is presented to the customer: 

On-Screen Disclosure (verbatim text displayed to customer):

"By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from Linn Cleaners (BANT Enterprises LLC) regarding your order status, pickup notifications, and promotional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance."

The customer is then presented with two explicit choices:

•       Yes, send me text messages  ✓

•       No, do not send me text messages

The customer's selection is recorded in the POS system and stored with their customer record before any messages are sent.

3. Message Types

Linn Cleaners sends the following categories of SMS messages to consenting customers:

•       Order Confirmation — sent when a new order is created and accepted

•       Order Ready / Pickup Notification — sent when a customer's order is ready for pickup

•       Delivery Notification — sent when an order is out for delivery (if applicable)

•       Promotional / Marketing Messages — sent periodically with offers, reminders, or seasonal promotions

4. Sample Messages

Order Confirmation:

"Hi [First Name], we've received your order at Linn Cleaners! Ticket #[XXXX]. Estimated ready date: [Date]. Reply STOP to opt out."

Order Ready:

"Good news! Your order at Linn Cleaners (Ticket #[XXXX]) is ready for pickup. We're open Mon–Sat 7am–7pm. Reply STOP to opt out."

Promotional:

"Linn Cleaners: 20% off your next order this week only! Mention this text at drop-off. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg&Data rates may apply."

5. Opt-Out Handling

Customers may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon receipt of a STOP reply:

•       Twilio automatically processes the opt-out and suppresses future messages to that number

•       The customer's consent status in the Linn Cleaners POS system is updated to reflect the opt-out

•       No further messages are sent except a single opt-out confirmation message as required by CTIA guidelines

Customers may also opt out in person at either store location, and staff will update their record in the POS system accordingly.

6. HELP Response

Customers who reply HELP will receive the following automated response:

"Linn Cleaners texts: Order & pickup alerts + promotions. Msg freq varies. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Contact us: (215) XXX-XXXX or linncleaners.com."

7. Data Retention

Customer consent records — including the date and method of consent, the phone number provided, and the message type(s) consented to — are stored in the Linn Cleaners POS database and retained for a minimum of five (5) years. Records are available for audit upon request.
